Asian Games: Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong claims historic tennis gold, earns LA Olympics spot
Hong Kong tennis star Coleman Wong Chak-lam beat China’s Wu Yibing in straight sets to claim a historic Asian Games gold on Saturday.
The 22-year-old became the first man from the city to win a tennis medal at a Games, and earned a place in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in the process.
Wong needed little more than 90 minutes to win 6-2, 6-4, and is starting to make a habit of beating Wu at the Games, having done so in the third round in Hangzhou three years ago.
